ESOF2020

The EuroScience Open Forum (ESOF) is a biennial, pan-European, general science conference dedicated to scientific research and innovation. Each conference aims to deliver stimulating content and lively debate around the latest advancements and discoveries in the sciences, humanities and social sciences.

ESOF brings together over 4,500 leading thinkers, innovators, policy makers, journalists and educators from more than 90 countries, to discuss current and future breakthroughs in contemporary science. It is one of the best opportunities for everyone from leading scientists, early careers researchers, business people, policy makers, science and technology communicators to the general public to come together to find out more about how science is helping us advance today.

The 9th edition of ESOF, originally planned to take place from 5 to 9 July, has been postponed as a consequence of the Coronavirus pandemic and the exceptional safety and prevention measures undertaken in Italy and in other countries around the world. The rescheduling will be accompanied by an update and revision of the ESOF programme. Digital tools, such as teleconferencing for session delivery, will be made available, and session content related to issues concerning public health and the environment, currently at the heart of scientific, political and public debate worldwide, will be amplified. ESOF will maintain its commitments with the sponsors and with the companies involved in the event.
