IMDIS 2021 turned into virtual, 12-14 April 2021

The IMDIS 2021 Conference was to take place in Amsterdam, but due to the global pandemic of the COVID-19, the IMDIS 2021 organising committee has decided to turn the conference into a virtual form.

PHIDIAS will be participating on this event and we'll be presenting the Ocean Use Case led by IFREMER, together with Université de Liège, MARIS, CNRS, CSC, and Finnish Environment Institute.

The IMDIS cycle of conferences has the aim of providing an overview of the existing information systems to serve different users in ocean science. It also shows the progresses on development of efficient: infrastructures for managing large and diverse data sets, standards, interoperable information systems, services and tools for education.

The Conference will present different systems for on-line access to data, meta-data and products, communication standards and adapted technology to ensure platforms interoperability. Sessions will focus on infrastructures, technologies and services for different users: environmental authorities, research, schools, universities, etc.

It will be organised by NIOZ (Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research), jointly with IFREMER, OGS and IOC/IODE, in the frame of the SeaDataCloud project (EU H2020 - Grant Agreement 730960). Storing and archiving large samples of SeaDataCloud in-situ data and of Satellite Sea Surface Salinity (SMOS satellite) will be one of the outputs of PHIDIAS project.

More information (registration, programme, instructions for oral presentations and posters) will be available in February 2021.
